This Spumante Extra Dry Sacchetto was made using the Charmat method. The grapes were carefully selected and gently pressed in a horizontal press. A slow fermentation took place with selected yeasts at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, to preserve the purity of the fruit. The secondary fermentation to produce the gentle sparkle took place in a pressure and temperature controlled autoclave. When the secondary fermentation was complete, Spumante Extra Dry Sacchetto was carefully prepared for bottling.
The grapes for this wine are grown in the province of Veneto, which is situated between the Gulf of Venice and the Alps. The Glera grapes are renowned for producing elegant sparkling wines and have been deftly blended with other local varieties to create this unique wine. Tai is the new synonym for the variety formerly known as Tocai Friulano; it produces wines with delicate apricot, citrus and honeyed aromas with almond nuances. The Verduzzo variety imparts structure and Pinot Bianco provides a light, crisp element to this delightful blend.
Cantina Sacchetto was founded in 1920 and today is run by Filiberto Sacchetto, his son Paolo and daughter Beatrice who oversee all aspects of the winemaking process and aim to produce the best possible examples of wines for which the Veneto region is famous.
