To produce the “Studio” Rosé Miraval all the varieties are vinified by direct pressing. The Cinsault and Tibouren are fermented in stainless steel vats, the Grenache and Rolle are partially fermented (to music) in tulip-shaped concrete vats with a rounded bottom. This ovoid shape gives rise to a natural convection movement that suspends the lees creating the same effect as bâtonnage, adding texture and body to the wine with no need for stirring. The high quality of the 2020 harvest made it possible to carry out vinifications with minimal intervention.
“Studio” by Miraval is a blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Tibouren. The vineyards are situated along the French Riviera, stretching from the mouth of the Rhône river to the gates of Monaco. The proximity to the Mediterranean Sea brings warm temperatures, which are tempered by the Mistral wind, providing excellent conditions for the grapes to ripen and retain acidity.
Château Miraval is located in the Provence village of Correns, the first 100% organic village in France. All of the crops, including grapes, are grown organically in this wild and picturesque town. Tucked away in its own private valley, the Château is surrounded by ancient woodlands and olive groves. In 2012, owners Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie partnered with the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel fame, who oversee wine production at the estate. Their continued dedication to improving quality in both the vineyards and the cellar, have seen the wines go from strength to strength, with Château Miraval today considered one of the great names of Provence.
